Hero MotoCorp has recently entered the premium motorcycle segment with its Mavrick 440 platform. Along with the standard roadster, Hero is expected to bring a scrambler-styled version known as the Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler. This bike will target young riders who love off-road adventure but also need comfort for daily city rides. Scramblers are becoming popular in India because they offer retro looks with modern performance. The Mavrick 440 Scrambler will be a tough competitor against Royal Enfield Scram 411, Yezdi Scrambler, and even Honda CB350RS.

Engine & Performance

The Mavrick 440 Scrambler will share its engine with the standard Mavrick 440. This means it will get a 440cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine which produces around 27 bhp power and 36 Nm torque. The engine is tuned for smooth city performance as well as highway cruising. Hero may re-tune the Scrambler version for better low-end torque, which is very useful for off-road rides. The 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch will make gear shifts smoother, especially when riding on rough trails. Hero will focus on strong mid-range power so riders can enjoy both dirt roads and long tours.

Design & Styling

Design will be the biggest attraction of the Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler. Unlike the roadster model, the Scrambler will get block-pattern tyres, a taller stance, and high-mounted exhaust. The seat will be flat and long for better comfort while riding on rough roads. Hero may also add fork gaiters, bash plate, and wide handlebars for off-road style. The bike will carry a retro-modern look with round LED headlamp, muscular fuel tank, and minimalistic tail section. Overall, the Mavrick 440 Scrambler will look rugged, stylish, and adventure-ready, making it attractive for young Indian riders.

Features & Technology

Hero is expected to load the Mavrick 440 Scrambler with modern features. It will have a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and ride analytics. Safety features like dual-channel ABS will come as standard. The Scrambler might also get switchable ABS for the rear wheel, which will help in off-road control. Lighting setup will be all-LED, including headlamp, indicators, and tail-lamp. Hero could also provide riding modes and traction control in higher variants, but that will depend on pricing strategy.

Suspension & Handling

For suspension, Hero will use long-travel telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged twin shock absorbers at the rear. This setup will be tuned specially for handling both city potholes and off-road trails. The Scrambler will ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with dual-purpose tyres for extra grip on mud and gravel. The wide handlebar and upright seating position will make the bike easy to control, even for new riders. Hero will focus on making it comfortable for long rides while keeping agility for off-road fun.

Braking & Safety

The braking system will include disc brakes on both front and rear wheels with dual-channel ABS. Since it is an adventure-oriented Scrambler, braking will be tuned for confidence both on road and off road. Hero may offer switchable ABS, which means riders can turn off the rear ABS while riding on dirt. This feature will allow controlled slides and more fun in off-road conditions. The bike’s strong frame, wide tyres, and comfortable suspension will add to the overall safety package, giving riders full confidence on Indian roads.

Comfort & Ergonomics

Comfort is one of the most important factors for scrambler motorcycles. Hero will make sure that the seat is wide and flat, offering comfort for both rider and pillion. The upright riding posture, wide handlebars, and mid-set footpegs will provide a relaxed stance, suitable for long highway journeys. Scramblers are designed for mixed riding, so the ergonomics will support both standing and sitting positions while off-roading. The suspension travel will absorb shocks on broken roads, making the bike a good choice for city traffic as well as rough terrains.

Mileage & Fuel Efficiency

The Mavrick 440 Scrambler is expected to deliver a mileage of 28-32 km/l, depending on riding conditions. Since it carries a bigger 440cc engine, mileage will not be as high as 150-200cc bikes, but it will still be efficient compared to other scramblers in the segment. With a 13-liter fuel tank, the bike can offer a range of around 350-400 km on a full tank, which is decent for touring. Hero may also tune the engine for better efficiency using its i3S (Idle Stop-Start) technology in future.

Price & Launch in India

Hero has not yet confirmed the official launch of the Mavrick 440 Scrambler, but it is expected to arrive in late 2025 or early 2026. The price will likely be around ₹2.6 lakh – ₹2.9 lakh (ex-showroom), slightly higher than the roadster version. This pricing will make it competitive against Royal Enfield Scram 411, Yezdi Scrambler, Honda CB350RS, and upcoming Bajaj/Triumph scramblers. If Hero can provide strong features at an affordable price, the Mavrick 440 Scrambler could become a very popular bike in the Indian market.
