Royal Enfield is working on expanding its 650cc lineup, and the Bullet 650 Twin is one of the most awaited launches. The Bullet name is legendary in India, known for its old-school charm, thumping exhaust note, and classic styling. The upcoming 650cc version will combine this heritage with modern performance, thanks to the parallel-twin engine already seen in the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The Bullet 650 will target riders who want a retro-classic motorcycle with extra power for highways and long-distance touring, while still carrying the iconic “Bullet” DNA.

Engine & Performance

The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 Twin will use the 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine, producing around 47 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 52 Nm torque at 5,250 rpm. This engine is well-known for its smooth and torquey nature. With a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, the bike will offer effortless cruising even at 120–130 km/h. The engine is expected to be tuned for relaxed performance rather than outright sportiness, staying true to the Bullet’s classic touring nature. Riders can expect excellent low-end torque, making it easy to ride both in city traffic and open highways.

Design & Styling

The Bullet 650 Twin will carry iconic retro styling with modern touches. It will feature the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round headlamp, chrome details, and long mudguards—all signature Bullet elements. However, it will be slightly larger and more muscular than the 350 version. The twin exhaust pipes will enhance its premium appeal and add a deep rumbling note. While the design will stay old-school, Royal Enfield will refine the detailing with LED lighting and better fit-and-finish. This will make the Bullet 650 a perfect mix of nostalgia and modern practicality.

Features & Technology

Although Royal Enfield usually keeps its classics simple, the Bullet 650 Twin is expected to come with modern features like a semi-digital instrument console with Tripper navigation, dual-channel ABS, and all-LED lighting. It may also get a USB charging port and improved switchgear quality. Unlike sport-oriented bikes, the Bullet will not have advanced electronics like traction control or riding modes, but it will provide all necessary features for comfort and safety. Royal Enfield’s focus will be on keeping the bike rider-friendly and authentic to its retro character.

Suspension & Handling

The Bullet 650 will be based on the same chassis as the Interceptor 650, with some changes to suit its relaxed riding style. It will feature telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, tuned for comfort. The bike will likely ride on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, wrapped in classic-style tyres. Handling will be more relaxed compared to the Interceptor, focusing on stability and comfort rather than aggressive cornering. With a kerb weight expected around 210–220 kg, the bike will feel solid and planted on highways.

Braking & Safety

Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. The larger engine means stronger braking power will be required, so Royal Enfield may use a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc setup. The braking will be progressive, designed more for stability than sudden sharp stopping. ABS will ensure safety during emergency braking on wet or slippery surfaces. With its strong frame, wide tyres, and balanced suspension, the Bullet 650 will provide a safe and confidence-inspiring ride for long journeys.

Comfort & Ergonomics

The Bullet has always been known for its comfort, and the 650cc version will take it further. The bike will have a wide, cushioned seat, upright handlebar, and forward-set footpegs, giving a relaxed riding position. This makes it suitable for long-distance rides without causing fatigue. The suspension will be tuned to absorb bumps and potholes, keeping the ride smooth on Indian roads. Pillion comfort will also be good, thanks to the flat seat and stable design. Riders looking for a comfortable cruiser-style experience will find the Bullet 650 ideal.

Mileage & Fuel Efficiency

The Bullet 650 Twin will not be very fuel-efficient because of its larger engine. It is expected to deliver around 22–25 km/l under mixed riding conditions. With a 13.5–14 liter fuel tank, the bike can cover around 300–350 km on a full tank, which is decent for a heavyweight classic motorcycle. While it won’t match smaller capacity bikes in mileage, it offers better efficiency compared to bigger superbikes. Royal Enfield will focus more on smooth torque delivery and enjoyable long-distance performance rather than just fuel economy.

Price & Launch in India

The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 Twin is expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026. Pricing will likely be around ₹3.2 lakh – ₹3.5 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it above the Interceptor 650 but below imported premium bikes. At this price, it will compete with Benelli Imperiale 400 (higher variant), Honda CB500 range, and Kawasaki W800. Given the Bullet’s strong brand loyalty in India, the 650cc version will likely attract both traditional Bullet fans and new riders wanting a powerful retro motorcycle.
